PIA in Glenmont, N.Y., Names Deputy Director

Kelly Norris has been named deputy director of the Glenmont, N.Y.-based Professional Insurance Agents associations of New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Hampshire and their affiliated organizations.

The PIA affiliates are managed by PIA Management Services, the umbrella corporation that manages 11 organizations, including Young Insurance Professionals, the Professional Insurance Wholesalers Association.

Norris is an experienced association executive, with more than 20 years’ experience working with associations.

Former Zurich CEO Schiro Named Lead Director at Goldman Sachs

The Goldman Sachs Group, a global investment banking and securities firm, said it appointed former Zurich Financial Services CEO James J. Schiro to be its board’s next lead director. Additionally, Schiro will also serve as the board’s chair of the corporate governance and nominating committee.

Kaufman Financial Group Names Derigiotis Director at R.B. Jones

Kaufman Financial Group, based in Farmington Hills, Mich., appointed David Derigiotis to a director position at its wholly owned subsidiary, R.B. Jones Inc.

Derigiotis joined Burns & Wilcox, Kaufman Financial Group’s largest subsidiary, in 2008, and has served as director of Professional Liability since 2010. He has been instrumental to the growth and success of the company’s Professional Liability Center of Excellence.

Derigiotis will be responsible for developing the future growth strategy for R.B. Jones, increasing its market presence, and introducing new and innovative products. He also will assume management responsibility for the R.B. Jones Leisure and Recreation program.

Prior to joining Burns & Wilcox, Derigiotis was a professional liability underwriter with two national A rated carriers in Chicago.

He currently serves as a faculty member for Insurance Journal’s Academy of Insurance.

Fireman’s Fund Names Tobias Southern California Territory Sales Director

Linda Tobias has been named territory sales director in Southern California at Novato, Calif.-based Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co.

Tobias will assume the position for personal insurance with responsibility for agencies in the San Diego and the Los Angeles areas. She will be responsible for working with partner agencies to manage relationships and develop new business opportunities.

Tobias has 25 years’ experience in insurance, including experience on the agency/broker side of the business having worked with both PLI Brokerage and an independent regional firm in Southern California. She previously worked at Fireman’s Fund from 2002 to 2005.
